Grounds
Step-free access from the front and rear to attractive mature gardens comprising green lawns, rockeries, flower beds and a large pond. There is ample seating areas all around the gardens.

Showering & Bathing
Whether you prefer to bathe or shower we have the facilities to meet your needs. We have an assisted bathroom which contains a Parker bath and is very popular with our residents due to its therapeutic benefits. It has a luxury whirlpool facility and also a shower attachment for easy rinsing. We also have a shower room which contains a large walk-in shower with level access for wheelchairs. The very spacious public bathrooms have lockable doors and a nurse call for your peace of mind and to ensure you can relax and enjoy the very best bathing or showering experience. In addition, twelve bedrooms have baths in their en-suite.

Laundry Facilities
All clothing, towels and linen is collected, laundered on the premises and returned to your room every day by the Laundry Assistants. Residents can access the laundry at any time should they wish to 'deliver' or collect their laundry themselves.

Hairdressing Salon
You are invited to purchase the services of a professional hairdresser who visits Queens Lodge every Wednesday, or alternatively the facilities of our hairdressing salon on the first floor are available for use with your own hairdresser or relative at any time without charge.

Tuck Shop
Residents can purchase items from our mobile tuck shop which is 'open' every Friday afternoon. Confectionery items such as sweets, chocolate and drinks and cosmetic products such as tissues, deodorant and combs are on sale. Residents can purchase items from the comfort of their own armchair!

Public Telephone
There is a public telephone, number 01254 681675, in the foyer. Alternatively, the office telephone may be used for private calls. If you have any difficulty using the telephone the staff will be happy to assist you.

General Practitioners
Residents may retain their own G.P. or are free to change to one of the many local practices, about which information can be sought from the Nurse Manager.

There are many individuals who visit Queens Lodge in a professional capacity, some visit on a regular basis while others visit when required by the residents or staff. Here are examples of professional visitors to the Home:

Smoking
All residents enjoy the benefit of a clean and smoke free environment at Queens Lodge, but for those residents who wish to smoke, the conservatory has been designated for this purpose due to its ample ventilation. Smoking is not permitted in any other public room and residents are reminded that smoking in bedrooms is strictly prohibited. No visitors or members of staff are allowed to smoke anywhere in the building.
